Investigators Workshop

Information

This workshop explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced genomics can address the clinical heterogeneity of epilepsy. We present an integrated framework spanning large-scale genetic discovery to real-world clinical application. Three complementary approaches are highlighted: (1) multi-generational genome-based multi-omics analysis to elucidate mechanisms of epilepsy; (2) a multimodal deep learning model integrating clinical and genomic data to predict treatment success; and (3) polygenic risk scores (PRS) combined with machine learning to predict disease severity.
Learning Objective 1
Evaluate how large-scale multigenerational cohorts (e.g., TMM BirThree) leverage genome-based multi-omics analysis to identify mechanisms of epilepsy development within families
Learning Objective 2
Understand the utility of multimodal deep learning architectures in integrating clinical and genomic data to predict anti-seizure medication (ASM) response
Learning Objective 3
Understand the potential for Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) integrated with ML to predict seizure control in adult focal epilepsy
